WOYWW #191

Hellooooo there peeps.
I trust that this little missive finds you all well and ready to trundle around the world staring avidly at what everyone is sharing workdesk wise this week. For all the details do pop on over to Julia at Stamping Ground for all the details  HERE

So what is going on in my little world....? Quite a lot actually, but it's all behind the scenes and under wraps at the mo.  So, my desk looks like this at the moment, Alcohol inks on the right, my bookmark from Shaz above that, just the usual comforting clutter of creative busyness really

And just to tease you, the first look at my new masks, they'll be launched at Stitches in February so not long now. ( There are 6 by the way all nicely layered up so you can't see them properly.)
Just to prove I'm not totally miserable, here is one of them for those of you who didn't see yesterdays post.
I've used this on a journal page already and am really pleased with it, I'll show you later, it's raining and I'm warm and dry here in the house.

Still hanging around my desk are some of the gelli plate trials...
What you can't see, however is all the stuff I've had to hide from view, everything is happening at the moment  and I'm knee deep is chaos at the moment trying to get things done that I will be able to finally share in the next few weeks. Until then, roam the world and have a good time.

Playing with Gelli

Good morning peeps.
Yesterday was a craft day with Mark and one of the things he brought along for us to try out was the Gelli Plate which seems to be taking the craft world by storm at the moment. I was curious to try it as I was wondering whether it would be something that I "must have"........

Well, to be perfectly honest, though I enjoyed giving it a go I came to the conclusion that it is not something that I would go to again and again. I confess, I got bored after a little while!
I liked this; this was the image stamped onto card after pressing the stamp onto the plate to lift off.
I like this little piece too.
 Some of the experiments
And look, a sneaky peek at one of my new mask designs, coming out soon!
I kinda like the subtlety of this too.
So, would I buy one? I think in the end I will but the smallest one rather than the large one as I can see me using it more as a way to get a nice thin paint layer to stamp with or for creating small background pieces rather than whole big pages.

There is some amazing stuff out there done with the plate, I look at them and think WOW, so I'm not saying it's not a great product, just that it doesn't suit my style of working.

Anyway, just thought I'd show you what I was doing yesterday. I was doing other stuff too, but I can't share that yet (Boo hoo) Soon though, soon!

Have a great day everyone.

Birthday card

Morning everyone.
Just thought I'd share this card with you this morning before I head off to my class.
This embossing folder is a favourite, I really like how it tops and tails on the card. I tore the edge and inked everything with Distress ink. This was mounted onto black card and I added a chain tassel to the RHS.
The sentiment (Tim Holtz) was stamped onto card and I cut a heart shape around it and inked the edges. I mounted it onto the card with 3D foam
The flower was made by looping ribbon onto a circle of card that I covered with double sided adhesive tape.
A decorative button to finish it off.

Have yourselves a great day folks.

My desk is reasonably tidy this week. I've been making some simple tags showing my new masks off. Everything else that is for DT or more is packed away.
 I love my masks!
Then there's my case of dreams, holder of my myriad journalling pens and potions.....

And back to my masks.

Finished some unfinished pages....

Good morning folks. The other day I shared some of my unfinished pages in my Dylusions journal. Well; because of the lovely snow I spent most of the weekend tucked up in the shed and inbetween other projects I got some of the pages finished!

This page definitely underwent a change ! Mainly because I messed up and ended up having to paint over a section! Not happy though in the end I actually like it a lot more than when I was halfway done!

This page I really enjoyed doing, I was looking through some stamped images and these caught my eye. I think they fit in well with the overall doodle, sketchy style of the page. And the sentiment is just perfect too!

This pic is a bit blurry but I like it, I popped the head on too far down the page so the body didn't fit, what to do? I know, I'll draw a tree.....

This page just needed some words so they were added along with a grunge heart.
Then, lastly, this is different to my usual but I enjoyed drawing the figures, What do you think; think they'd make pretty cool stamps?

So there they are, finished pages! Hope you all have a lovely creative day!

Alpha Challenge letter C

Goodly morning peeps
Today sees the next letter in The Craft Barn Alpha challenge. The time it's the letter C. There is more inspiration on their blog HERE.
I chose the word calling and let loose
I used Dylusions inks and stamps. Colouring with inks
The branches are done with Liquid Pearls. I love the texture and shimmer it gives you.

A couple of the small die cut deer add the finishing touch.
So, that's my page for this time. I'm enjoying this very much and look forward to having a book that will be meaningful to me at the end of the year!
Hope you all have a lovely and creative day, Mr weatherman is telling me more snow here today so I'll be making a flask of coffee and locking myself in the studio with the heater on full!

Journal pages

Hi there peeps.
Saturday already huh? Where does the time go? Thought I'd just share some of what I've been doing in my journal this week. Only one page is actually completed, but thought you might like to see some of the other in progress pages too........I won't bore you with lots of waffle but there are loads of pictures!
I enjoyed doing this page!
 Place for hidden journalling.
 Doodleparts stamped border

Lots of lovely layers of inks and stamping.
My new masks, seeing how they work on a larger page. Very pleased with the result.
Bit of detail. I will say though, that of all the new products coming out, the one I'm most excited about is the Dylusions white spray because I really think it will work really well with these masks.
The colour on this page is entirely done using mask mop up from the Whatever page.
Using pen to work over at the moment.

Lastly, lovely vibrant colours on this page. Again, starting point was mopping up paint from another project.
The black also makes the colours "pop"

So, tried to keep the words to a minimum. Hope you all have a good and creative day.
